Debutante Teas

During the fall and winter season prior to the ball, the Legion hosts monthly Debutante Teas for prospective Debutantes.

The purpose of the Debutante Teas is to allow you a chance to meet the committee members that will be helping you prepare for your debut and learn more about the responsibilities of a Debutante. They also give you the opportunity to make friends with other Debutantes that will be presented with you, and hear Post-Debutantes speak about their magical night!

In the past, we've hosted our teas at unforgettable locations such as the Chicago Yacht Club and the University Club of Chicago. We've played paddle ball, decorated pumpkins, and even learned how to paint!

A universal favorite amongst debutantes and former debutantes is our infamous Andrzejki Debutante Tea, which focuses on the Polish tradition of the Eve of St. Andrew’s Day (Andrzejki). There's always lots of giggling and excitement as we bring back old Polish lore like fortune telling and predicting future husbands using candle wax and apple peels!

Your participation in this unique tradition will create a memory that will last your lifetime. If you're considering being a debutante, join us at one of our teas!
